Introduction:

THESIS: The skill of being well versed in technology is vital nowadays to becoming a successful theater performer, as more and more auditions go virtual.


  1. Introduce myself in the video and give my background on theater to support how well versed I am in the subject (audience:incoming BFA students/ anyone interested in breaking into the business)

  2. Explain why this is important to me and why I think many don’t get the full picture (is this needed?)

  3.   1. Explain how an audition works nowadays (cut to interview question on how auditions work: acting perspective from acting major, MT) 

  2. Explain the self- tape (cut to interview question: what’s a self tape and how does it work)

  3. Talk about where the self- tape is used: auditioning for college, summer jobs, broadway (maybe find an outside source for this)

  4. Examine equipment needed to record and editing videos and posting them to be reviewed(cut to: what have you had to learn technologically that you wouldn’t have if you weren’t in the acting world)

  5. Briefly touch on pandemic and performing over zoom
