Unit 2 Library

In general, I grew up with the context that the library is a social place full of activities and education. I would walk to the library after school with my friends. So, growing up being exposed to the libraries at home, having Bird Library is a great place to feel comfortable doing work quietly and enjoying an environment full of many resources. My first time at Bird was actually due to their coffee being popular. I love a good latte and was feeling tired. I expected to walk in, get the latte, and go back to my dorm to do work, but found a nice booth and laid my stuff out to study. From then on I found a lot of enjoyment in going out to a new environment to do my work, and associating the library with productivity. 

As technology became more prominent growing up, I found enjoyment in libraries
expanding past books and having resources such as public computers and Virtual Reality sets as Bird does. This creates a space not only to do work, but also a social one to meet new people and explore activities I otherwise wouldn't have access to. The functional and relaxing nature of Bird Library is one I appreciate, so finding a book I could enjoy as an assignment was a good excuse to go appreciate the library once again.
