What I Wear on my Feet When I think of a selfie, my mind often goes right to social media, places where you see everyone from celebrities to the common citizen sharing what they do in their pastime, or a photo of their face after it's been put together by makeup. Though in these terms the selfie might be something that seems to have low impact, through my life I have seen how the selfie helps people raise awareness for important causes in a way that can connect to a large, younger demographic. For example, in my own life, I have learned a lot about Ukraine and the distress it has had on people my age, all through the selfie. Two years ago, a local family took in a Ukrainian exchange student. As time went on, and the violence in Ukraine worsened, and Diana was stuck hours from home in a. small town where she knew very few.
